Coach's Corner
Stay Hydrated - Don't Overlook It The smell of summer is starting to fill the air! To us that is the smell of football and the smell of a run towards the CFC title. As we head into the season I, along with the rest of the coaching staff, would like to thank each and every player for their commitment to the off-season work you put in on your own, along with your attendance at the team camps and workouts. I cannot stress enough to you how important conditioning on your own and working on your individual technique on your own is to this team. Also, start acclimating yourself to being hydrated. Hydration is like getting in shape. You are not going to go out and run 35 sprints on the first day and be in football shape. You have to work yourself into it. The same goes for keeping your body hydrated. Start getting your body used to being filled with water. Yes, water. Water is the best thing to put into your body as far as hydration. Later on you can start to drink Gatorade to replace electrolytes. If you get your body used to having water in it and replacing lost fluids while working out or practicing, once the season rolls around your body will recover faster from losing fluids. This will help to reduce fatigue and keep you focused on your task at hand. Let alone keep you in the game and one step ahead of your opponents. The regular season is almost here. I hope everyone is excited as I am. I want to encourage each player to attend every organized event possilbe. These practices and other types of meetings are to help you as an individual get better which helps the team as a whole get better.
We've been hit by some injuries and flu bugs going around, but all in all we continue to prepare for the CFC season. Let's make sure we are taking care of ourselves and doing everything we can off the field to become better on it. Remember, if you're going to miss practice, make sure you contact your position coach. Finally, if you know of anyone who might be interested in helping with game/practice operations, please have them contact me directly. We could use some help in this area. The more help we get, the less the players and coaching staff have to do. Mark Brown - GM |
